Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring an active MA RN license and willingness to float across 8 different units.

Details

• Float Pool RN position within a 371-bed acute care hospital
• Floats across 8 Med/Surg Telemetry units: Davenport 5, Davenport 7, Davenport 8, Davenport 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow
• Patient population includes ED border patients, medication nurse duties in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
• Clinician-to-patient ratio: up to 5:1 on days and evenings, up to 6:1 on nights
• Individual unit sizes range from 8 to 41 beds
• Rotating day/evening schedule with 1 to 3 night rotations per contract
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 36 hours per week
• EMR: Epic (charting)
• Time keeping system: UKG/Kronos
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA only; Red Cross not accepted at this facility)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting tele strips
• Experience with cardiac drips and TR Band required
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration — no pending licenses accepted

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, reading and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours, managing cardiac drips, and TR Band procedures
• Must be willing and able to float to 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital
• Local candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration
• 13-week contract
