Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Flex Pool position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and telemetry skills, with day shift scheduling and every other weekend availability.

Details

• Med/Surg Flex Pool position within a 276-bed hospital
• Day shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 3x12 or 4x12 schedule
• Standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with the potential to flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing shortages
• Every other weekend required
• PRN on-call required for low census
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities required
• Charting performed in Epic
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Required certifications (AHA only): BLS
• Preferred certifications (AHA only): ACLS, NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, insulin management, and rapid response
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for a travel rate; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed pre-start
• Royal Blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
