Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with 2+ years of experience and at least one prior travel assignment for a fast-paced inpatient and outpatient setting in New Mexico.
Details
- 36-hour work week, 8-hour day shifts, 5 days per week
- Settings include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health care
- Pediatric PT responsibilities include evaluating and treating infants, children, and adolescents (birth to 18 years) for motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, and gait
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
- Pediatric PT candidates may be required to float to adult units if pediatric patient census fluctuates
- Epic EMR used; on-site training available
Requirements
- Active New Mexico PT license required; license required if applicable
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
- Minimum 2 years of current experience in specialty required
- At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required
- Both inpatient and outpatient experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of pediatric PT experience required if working in the pediatric setting
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred
- Must be proficient in English (speak, read, write)
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

- Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients across a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders
- Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan
- Coordinates with interdisciplinary teams and communicates across services involved in patient care
- Oversees comprehensive rehabilitation programs addressing physical, psychosocial, and environmental well-being
- Former employees of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
- Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
