Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Unit (Med/Surg Tele) position requiring Med/Surg and Stepdown experience, with prior travel nursing experience and night shift availability.

• Position is located in a Medicine Specialty Unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule
• 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Level I trauma experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA); all certifications must be AHA-issued
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Minimum of 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, obtaining and monitoring physiological data, and delegating tasks to support staff
• Collaborates with physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educates patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• NIHSS certification must be included with your candidate profile for consideration
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible to return
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced; candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
