Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring Epic EMR experience, Level 1 Trauma background, and an active IL RN license.

Details

Position is located in a hospital NICU department
Neonatal patient population including monitoring of intake and output
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts per day
Epic EMR used; experience required

Requirements

Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
Current BLS (American Heart Association) required
Current NRP (American Heart Association) required
Minimum 1 year of relevant NICU nursing experience required; 3–5 years in a Level 3 or higher NICU strongly preferred
Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
Epic EMR experience required
ASN required; BSN preferred
English proficiency (speak, read, write) required

Additional Information

Responsibilities include completing initial patient assessments, developing and modifying plans of care, implementing nursing interventions, and participating in multidisciplinary rounds
Assists mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care
Administers medications using barcode scanning
Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must either convert to permanent staff or take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the health system
