Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in St. Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• 7 East Medical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting with 60 beds
• Medical patient population, including patients with post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
• Equipment used includes bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, and wound vacs
• EMR: Epic
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week contract
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit

Requirements

• Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state license valid in Missouri required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience required
• A valid U.S. Social Security Number is required (Canadian SINs are not accepted)
• No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
• No expiring certifications within the first 30 days of the assignment, unless documentation of a scheduled renewal is provided
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and turn patients with assistance; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Black scrubs required
• Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center
