Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring a minimum of one year of PICU experience and Level 1 facility experience, working nights on a 13-week contract.

  • Position is in a Pediatric ICU (PICU) within a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of 1 year of PICU nursing experience required
  • Level 1 facility experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Full date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of pediatric patients, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments, and administering medications including IV infusions and blood products
  • Assists physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and monitors physiological data with appropriate intervention as needed
  • Engages with patients and families regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge needs; delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • BSN from a board-approved program is preferred
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract; extensions are limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks
  • Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background checks, and medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of an offer — compliance deadlines are strictly enforced
