Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, requiring ARRT-CT certification and experience with trauma, angiograms, and stroke perfusion.

Details

• Hospital-based radiology department at a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level III NICU facility
• Patient population includes inpatient and outpatient adults, with occasional pediatric patients from the ED and outpatient settings
• 1:1 patient ratio with an average of 4 patients per hour (approximately 40 patients per day)
• Required procedures include trauma CT, angiograms, and stroke perfusion; biopsy drainage experience is preferred
• All CT scanners are GE equipment; EMR is Cerner
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Weekend rotation varies, typically once per month but subject to change based on departmental needs
• On-call is voluntary
• Traveler may float throughout different areas within the main Radiology department

Requirements

• Current BLS and ARRT certifications required
• ARRT-CT certification required; AL state license preferred — license required if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of CT experience considered for strong candidates; first-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Experience with trauma CT, angiograms required; stroke perfusion experience strongly preferred
• Biopsy drainage experience preferred
• Must be able to work with adult and occasional pediatric patient populations
• A reference from a charge-level supervisor or above from the past 12 months is required for consideration
• DOB (day and month) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of 1 eight-hour hospital orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit alongside another technologist on day shift
• Holiday coverage expectations include one major and one minor seasonal holiday per hospital policy; specific holiday scheduling is not guaranteed prior to arrival
• Any scrub color is acceptable
• Free parking is available on-site
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
