Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position at an academic medical center in Washington, DC, requiring 3 years of ICU experience and proficiency with Cerner EMR.
Details
- 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
- Three 12-hour shifts per day with AM/PM rotation
- Multidisciplinary ICU serving neurological, neuro-surgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
- Technology used includes ventilators, ventriculostomies, cardiac monitors, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, continuous pulse oximetry, CRRT, gastric tubes, and IV infusion pumps
- Cerner EMR required
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Washington, DC (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- CPI certification required for this position
- Minimum 2 years of US hospital ICU experience required; 3 years strongly preferred
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Active US Social Security Number required
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
- Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides comprehensive critical care to a diverse patient population including neurological, surgical, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
- Operates and monitors advanced critical care technology in accordance with licensure, certification, and training
- Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
- All certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA)
