Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Scan Technologist (Inpatient) with a minimum of 2 years of CT experience and trauma experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV.

Details

• Inpatient CT Scan department at a Level II Trauma Center — the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City
• Facility serves over 80,000 ER and trauma patients annually and is home to a children's hospital, robotic surgery institute, and comprehensive heart, cancer, and neurosciences services
• Patient population includes neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Cases include advanced imaging for trauma, stroke, code aorta, ER, inpatient, and outpatient CT procedures
• 4x10 hour shifts with varied scheduling; no call required
• Floating to other areas within the organization may be required up to competency level
• Coverage of at least 2 major holidays is required
• 13-week contract; no blocked scheduling permitted
• Epic EMR used — training provided during orientation or candidates may test out

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical CT experience required
• Trauma imaging experience required
• Travel experience required
• ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT) certifications required
• Active Nevada license for Medical Radiography required (license required if applicable)
• AHA BLS required within 60 days of hire
• Proficiency with CT scanning equipment and contrast injecting equipment required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Produce diagnostic CT scans and assist the radiologist in CT scan procedures, including administering IV contrast materials under radiologist direction
• Responsible for coordinating daily workflow and assisting with throughput of ER, inpatient, and outpatient cases
• Performs QC monitoring and makes technical decisions to ensure optimal image quality
• Must maintain competency in operating a variety of CT imaging units and image storage systems
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their contract ends before returning
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to placement and will not be added to the end of the contract
