Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit (6B) at a large inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• High-acuity Surgery Trauma floor (Unit 6B) within a large, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, as well as gunshot wounds, quadriplegia, and paraplegia
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on night shifts
• ED nurse and admitting unit complete a formal nurse handoff upon patient admission
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Requires working 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is not available — must be willing to work assigned shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR required

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or surgical trauma nursing experience required
• Experience in a large, high-volume hospital environment required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-acuity facilities will not be considered
• Proven ability to manage critical, fast-paced, high-acuity trauma cases
• Epic EMR proficiency required
