Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level IV Women & Infants Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, requiring advanced NRP certification and Level IV L&D experience.
Details
- Night shift position: 19:00–07:30
- 13-week contract
- 36 hours per week
- Level IV Women & Infants Hospital with a 15-bed L&D unit, 20-bed Antepartum unit, and 8-bed OB Triage
- Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for patients in active labor, up to 2 patients in early/latent labor
- Charge nurse coverage available in both L&D and the high-risk unit; dedicated baby nurse present for deliveries
- Every third weekend rotation required
- Holiday rotation required
- Orientation consists of two shifts
- Manages Magnesium and insulin drips
- Advanced external fetal monitoring required
Requirements
- Active Indiana or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required
- Level IV Labor & Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP Advanced (AHA/AAP)
- Fetal monitoring certification required — AWHONN, Relias, or equivalent within the past 2 years if not covered on competency exam
- Familiarity with Magnesium and insulin drip management required
- Valid US Social Security Number and US home address required
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Full SSN and full DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Practice adheres closely to AWHONN guidelines for staffing and patient care
- Strong attendance commitment expected — no tolerance for excessive call-ins
- Local candidates are accepted; however, candidates residing within the facility's radius may be eligible for a reduced pay rate
- COVID vaccination is not required for this position
