Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery/Postpartum (LDRP) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience, with night shift scheduling and regional floating requirements in the Charlotte, NC area.

Details

• Work in an 8-bed Maternity unit at a 44-licensed-bed community hospital in Matthews, NC
• Patient population includes LDRP and GYN surgical cases
• Staffing follows AWHONN patient ratio guidelines
• Nurses perform full-scope LDRP care including circulating C-sections, newborn care (heel sticks, 24-hr testing, NAS scoring), and lactation support
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitoring: Philips; fetal monitors: GE Corometrics; infant warmers: GE Panda
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Floating required within Region 2 (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division including CMC Main, CMC Mercy, and Levine Children's Hospital) per regional needs

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Comprehensive LDRP skillset required, including circulating C-sections and full newborn care
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the unit — local candidates are not accepted
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidates who have held a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• A clinical interview with the manager is required as part of the hiring process
• Department support includes CNAs, a charge nurse, HUC/receptionist, case manager, 24/7 RT, 24/7 hospitalist and OB physician coverage, two OB practices, a pediatrician, and lactation consultants
• Orientation includes a facility NEO and 2 days of departmental training
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; contract hours must be fulfilled
• Scrubs: navy blue required; hospital-issued scrubs are provided while on unit
• Free parking is available at the facility
