Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week inpatient rehabilitation assignment in Houston, TX, requiring an active Texas OT license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 3rd floor of a main hospital building in Houston, TX
• 20-bed unit with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, CNCs, PTs, OTs, SLPs, and therapy techs
• Patient ratios of 4–6 patients per therapist
• Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Preferred schedule is Tuesday through Saturday; alternating weekends may also be an option
• May float to acute care or outpatient settings as needed
• Equipment includes Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, rollators, NuStep, LiteGait, hospital beds, bed/chair alarms, oxygen tanks, pulse oximeters, and blood pressure machines
• EMR system is Meditech

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Texas OT license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience; allied candidates must have at least 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
• Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform OT evaluations and provide daily treatments for inpatient rehabilitation patients
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills are a good fit for this unit
• Navy blue scrubs required per facility dress code
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
