Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week inpatient rehabilitation assignment in Houston, TX, requiring an active Texas OT license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 3rd floor of a main hospital building in Houston, TX
- 20-bed unit with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, CNCs, PTs, OTs, SLPs, and therapy techs
- Patient ratios of 4–6 patients per therapist
- Day shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Preferred schedule is Tuesday through Saturday; alternating weekends may also be an option
- May float to acute care or outpatient settings as needed
- Equipment includes Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, rollators, NuStep, LiteGait, hospital beds, bed/chair alarms, oxygen tanks, pulse oximeters, and blood pressure machines
- EMR system is Meditech
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Texas OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience; allied candidates must have at least 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
- Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Perform OT evaluations and provide daily treatments for inpatient rehabilitation patients
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills are a good fit for this unit
- Navy blue scrubs required per facility dress code
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
