Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a float pool OR position at a large academic Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Large academic hospital with 1,000+ beds, Level 1 trauma designation, featuring a 56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) and 5 procedural rooms
- Unit: OR Float Pool with the ability to float between OR rooms within the same facility (no cross-location floating)
- Patient population includes complex CABG, valve repairs, repeat cardiac procedures, heart failure, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplants, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE), cardiac trauma, and adult congenital cases
- Adult patients only; pediatric OR is a separate facility
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), Monday through Friday; specific days may vary based on unit need and a block schedule cannot be offered
- Call is required for all travelers in cardiac surgery — a 3-layer, 24/7 on-call rotation in addition to 3x12-hour shifts; call requirements rotate every 6 weeks
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Tennessee (TN) or a valid Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating cardiac surgeries
- Complete COVID-19 vaccine series or valid medical/religious exemption required by start date — no exceptions
Additional Information
- RNs must be able to scrub and circulate complex cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve procedures, ECMO, and transplant cases
- Call obligations include a 3-tiered on-call structure covering 24/7 coverage; specific requirements rotate every 6 weeks
- This position is within a major academic medical center environment with high-acuity cardiac surgical volume
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
