Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level 3 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 5 years of acute care OR experience and a SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 12-room Operating Room department at a 276-bed acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call required: 2-star call until 11:00 PM per week, plus every 3rd–4th weekend call
• Weekend requirement: every 3rd to 4th weekend
• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
• Charting performed in Epic
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact (multi-state) RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be active prior to start
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care OR experience required, with well-rounded competency across general, neuro, ortho, ENT, and GYN service lines
• Level 3 trauma center experience required
• A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the staffing agency prior to start
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have a broad scope of OR specialty competency
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
• Holiday coverage requirements apply; candidates should be prepared for potential holiday assignments
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August–September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
