Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Rad Tech for a cardiac catheterization and vascular procedures unit, requiring ARRT registration, BLS/ACLS, and experience with peripheral vascular and structural heart procedures.
Details
- Cardiac catheterization lab and hybrid vascular OR setting within a Level 1 Trauma facility
- Procedures include left and right heart cath, coronary stenting, pericardiocentesis, structural heart interventions (TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD/PFO, CardioMEMS), hybrid peripheral vascular work (EVAR, TCAR, TEVAR), embolization (arterial/venous), venous thrombectomy, and venous central line placement
- Adjunctive tools include IVUS, FFR/iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rotablator, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO techniques
- Epic EMR — experience required
- 4x9-hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- 36 hours per week
- On-call duties required; candidates must be available for call within 6 months of assignment start
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology required
- Current ARRT registration in Radiography (R) required
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography in Illinois (IEMA) required — license required if applicable
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Cath Lab / Rad Tech experience required
- Experience with peripheral vascular procedures, venous central lines, and tube changes required
- Experience with embolization (arterial and venous) and venous thrombectomy required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Neuro experience preferred
- Ability to work within and maintain a sterile field during procedures
- English proficiency (speak, read, write) required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include administering contrast material via existing vascular access, assessing patients for allergies, and recognizing and responding to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions
- Duties also include patient identification verification, documentation per established policies, patient education, comfort, safety, and confidentiality
- May assist with instruction of new staff and inventory/supply management
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the assignment
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
