Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Advanced Care/EMU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring Epic EMR proficiency and a minimum of one year of nursing experience, working nights at a Level 1 Trauma facility in Illinois.

Details

  • Advanced Care/EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes advanced care and EMU patients requiring continuous seizure monitoring
  • Works collaboratively with critical care teams and hospitalists
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma facility experience required

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in good standing required (temp license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
  • PCU, step-down, or intermediate care experience required
  • Epic EMR charting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
  • Associate's degree (ASN) required; BSN preferred
  • English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required

Additional Information

  • Monitors EMU patients around the clock for seizure activity
  • Completes patient admissions assessments, develops and continuously updates individualized care plans
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the healthcare team
  • Engages patients and families through hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
  • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment for more than 1 year at this health system; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the system
