Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position in Nashville, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience and active TN or Compact RN license.
Details
- Critical Care Unit (CVICU) in a hospital setting in Nashville, TN
- 15-bed unit serving a high-acuity cardiovascular and neurosurgical patient population
- Patient diagnoses include cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, MI, CHF, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, post-cardiopulmonary arrest, post-ventricular assist device placement, and neuro/neurosurgical conditions
- Ages served range from adolescent through late adult (ages 14 and up)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
- Direct patient care team consists of RNs and Patient Care Techs
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN or Compact license required
- Minimum 2 years of critical care (ICU) experience required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a valid US home address
- Driver's License copy required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Full DOB and full SSN required for consideration

- Provides ICU-level care for critically ill patients including cardiothoracic surgery recovery (open heart), neuro/neurosurgery, and ECMO-level COVID-19 cases
- Unit frequently receives high-acuity transfers from across Tennessee and beyond
- Fast-paced, high-acuity environment well-suited for motivated critical care nurses
