Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to float across multiple specialties and campuses.

Details

  • Float pool position covering Med/Surg, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neuro, Medicine, and COVID units
  • Part of a metro float pool spanning multiple hospital campuses
  • If not needed at the primary facility, nurses may float to other approved hospitals within the network
  • Some floors operate under a primary nursing care model
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required for certain units
  • Triage and telemetry skills preferred
  • Chemo, IV starts, and tele skills are part of the role's scope

Requirements

  • Active MO RN license required (Compact license also accepted); must be valid and in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Preferred certifications: Chemo, CCRN, NIH Stroke Scale, ONS, TNCC, and CPI
  • Demonstrated IV start skills required
  • Triage and telemetry skills preferred
  • Strong, independent nursing practice required given the float pool environment
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
  • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
  • Contract length is 13 weeks minimum, with the option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
