Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool / House Supervisor Telemetry position at a Level IV Trauma Center in West Allis, WI, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Float pool position covering all Med/Surg inpatient departments, with unit assignments coordinated through the House Supervisor
• 277-bed hospital designated as a Level IV Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center
• General Med/Surg patient population with all M/S diagnoses
• Patient ratio averages up to 6 patients per nurse depending on staffing
• Telemetry monitoring is centralized with a dedicated telemetry tech
• 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730, 36 hours per week
• Every-other-weekend rotation required
• Every-other-major-holiday coverage required (2 major holidays as needed)
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• EMR: Epic (experience required); IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis
• 6-week scheduling cycle

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• General M/S skillset required, including trachs, chest tubes, cardiac rhythm strip interpretation, and drip management (Lasix, insulin, heparin gtts) and wound vacs
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Department support includes CNAs/Techs, HUCs, RNs, a Rapid Response Team, phlebotomy for peripheral lab draws, and a Charge Nurse
• Orientation consists of 1 shift
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved, with a contract extension to accommodate
• Solid-color scrubs with no logos required
