Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center in Bangor, ME, requiring ARRT(R) certification and a minimum of 1 year of CT experience.
Details
- Work in a dedicated CT Scan department at a 411-bed Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center serving a large regional area, including air transport arrivals
- CT scanners on unit include a Siemens Edge (CT1), Siemens Force (CT2), and Siemens Definition (CT ED), with Medrad injectors
- Patient population is primarily adult and geriatric, with some pediatric and neonatal cases across ED, inpatient, and outpatient care areas
- Outpatient cases include oncology, general abdominal pain, post-surgical, and trauma; biopsy procedures also performed (training provided)
- Average of 25–30 scans per day
- EMR: Cerner; PACS: Enterprise Imaging (AGFA)
- 36 hours per week on variable 12-hour shifts
- Weekend rotation required (up to every other weekend); overnight coverage as needed
- No call required
- No floating — fixed assignment within the CT department
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience required
- ARRT(R) required; ARRT(CT) preferred
- BLS required
- ME state license or compact license required (if applicable)
- Experience with CTA and general CT studies required
- Experience with Siemens CT equipment preferred
- IV start skills preferred
- Biopsy experience preferred but not required
- Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME — Maine residents are not eligible
- Must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start (medical exemptions reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
- Two professional references within the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge — peer references not accepted
- Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform CT imaging across ED, inpatient, and outpatient settings including CTA studies, trauma imaging, oncology scans, and biopsies (training provided for biopsies)
- Supported by a lead tech, department administration, multiple CT techs per shift, internal transport, and an on-site radiologist
- Orientation is approximately 1–1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level
- Schedules are issued on a 4-week basis; all RTO requires manager approval
- Holiday coverage is shared in rotation with other techs
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Scrubs may be any solid, professional color; facility scrubs are available if needed
