Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level II Trauma Center's Radiology department, requiring ARRT-CT certification and experience with trauma and angiogram procedures.

Details

• Work in the main Radiology department of a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center in Montgomery, AL
• Inpatient and outpatient setting serving adult patients and occasional pediatric outpatients and ED patients
• Patient ratio of 1:1 with an average of 4 patients per hour (~40 patients per day)
• Required procedures include trauma CT, angiogram, and stroke perfusion; biopsy drainage experience is preferred
• All GE CT equipment; EMR is Cerner
• 12-hour day shifts, Thursday through Saturday (7:30 AM start), 36 hours per week
• Shifts may also be scheduled as 10H or 8H depending on departmental needs
• Weekend rotation varies, typically once per month but subject to change based on departmental needs
• On-call is voluntary
• May float to different areas within the Radiology department and throughout the hospital

Requirements

• Current BLS and ARRT certifications required
• ARRT-CT certification required
• AL state license preferred; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of experience considered for candidates with strong relevant skills; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience
• Experience with trauma CT and angiogram required; stroke perfusion experience strongly preferred; biopsy drainage experience preferred
• Proficiency with GE CT equipment and Cerner EMR
• A reference from a charge-level supervisor or above from the past 12 months is required for consideration
• DOB (day and month) and full SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of one 8-hour hospital orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit with a day-shift tech
• Holiday coverage is expected for one major and one minor seasonal holiday per facility policy; specific holiday scheduling is not guaranteed in advance
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
• Interviews are required for this position
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
