Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer for a non-invasive cardiology position in Temple, TX, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

• Non-invasive cardiology unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Adult cardiac patient population
• Procedures include transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography
• May assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms with echocardiographic studies during complex procedures
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (AM shift)
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of cardiac sonography experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Associate degree required
• Active BLS (AHA only), RCS, and RDCS certifications required
• TX license required if applicable
• Must be independent and self-sufficient
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• DOB and SSN required for consideration
• Flu shot required — no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Performs basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms, using a variety of equipment and techniques to obtain accurate, high-quality diagnostic results
• Identifies and defines cardiac abnormalities, correlating invasive and noninvasive cardiac diagnostic test results with cardiac anatomy and function
• Assists with transesophageal studies alongside a cardiologist, including calculating measurements and sterilizing the probe
• Prepares patients for procedures and obtains clinical history to adapt imaging techniques for comprehensive, diagnostic-quality echocardiograms
• Works closely with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to maintain quality processes and supports IAC accreditation activities
• Performs daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment and reports any malfunctions
• Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, and procedures
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local travelers are not accepted
• Solid-color scrub sets (top and pants) are required and must be purchased by the candidate
