Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience, ARRT (CT) certification, and Epic proficiency for a 13-week travel assignment in Oregon.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting within a Diagnostic Imaging department
- Works with infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
- Operates multi-slice/multi-detector CT scanner equipment
- Performs scan techniques, reconstructions, and 3D post-processing
- Toshiba or Philips CT scanner experience preferred
- Epic EMR — experience required
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Friday through Monday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- May be required to float to a nearby affiliate hospital; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved training program in Radiologic Technology
- Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience
- ARRT (CT) certification required; candidates without ARRT (CT) must hold ARRT (R), ARRT (N), NMTCB, or ARRT (RT) with documented CT clinical experience and must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 6 months of hire
- Active Oregon Board of Medical Imaging license required if applicable
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in IV/angio-cath starts and contrast media administration via power injection
- Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy/pathology and CT physics and radiation safety
- Epic EMR experience required
- COVID vaccination proof required — no exemptions accepted
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required for consideration
Additional Information
- Operates multi-slice CT scanners to perform a full range of diagnostic exams with accuracy and efficiency
- Applies ALARA principles to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation dose
- Prescreens patients for contrast sensitivity and contraindications, and selects appropriate contrast types and injection parameters
- Performs accurate documentation including order verification, patient identification, image labeling, billing verification, and PACS confirmation
- Participates in clinical research studies and contributes to the education of radiology students and residents
- Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must have a reference completed by the OHSU manager who supervised them
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 6 months to return as a traveler
- Requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration and may not exceed 2 weeks
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction applies
