Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position requiring Epic proficiency, high-acuity ICU experience, and night shift availability in the New Orleans area.

Details

• High-acuity SICU setting within a large health system
• Patient population includes general post-op surgical recovery, as well as transplant recovery patients (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, and pancreas)
• CVICU-level cases include post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter management
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required to other ICUs and SDUs
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps is preferred
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) required

Requirements

• Active LA or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• High-acuity ICU nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

• By accepting this assignment, you agree to participate in an Emergency Team if assigned by your unit manager, which may include remaining on-site during or after an emergency event or serving on a relief team
• Candidates who are not comfortable with emergency team obligations should not apply for this role
