Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position at a 5-time Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and both MO/KS or compact RN licensure.

- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a 456-bed tertiary care, Level 1 Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Patient population includes pulmonary, wound, urology, general cardiac, general neuro, and general renal diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:5, with rare flex to 1:6
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
- Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
- No on-call requirements
- Required skills include: dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line management, heparin and PCA protocols, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), non-invasive airway management, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
- Preferred skills include: management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, feeding tube care, renal failure management, CVA care, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, and tracheostomy management
- Charting via Epic
- Navy scrubs required

Requirements
- Active RN license in Missouri (MO) and Kansas (KS), or a compact RN license — both must be in hand at time of consideration, as floating between facilities may require licensure in both states
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/telemetry specialty experience required
- At least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months, with no employment gap greater than 90 days in the past year
- 2 professional references required: one must be supervisor-level or above, the second may be a charge RN — all must be from the past year and must have directly worked with the candidate
- SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment
- Charge RN assignments may be required as needed per unit policy
- Holiday shift coverage is required as assigned
- RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
- Completion of online compliance modules (approximately 10–15 hours) is required prior to the start of the assignment
- Local candidates are not accepted
