Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in San Antonio, TX, working night shifts with perinatal specialty experience preferred.

Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
13-week contract
Full-time position

Requirements

Active RN license in TX or a compact state
Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery or a related perinatal nursing specialty
Current BLS certification (AHA only)
Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
Current NRP certification
Current NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification or AWHONN Intermediate FHM certification
BSN preferred
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete organizational and perinatal department-specific competency validations
All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal clinical experience is preferred
