Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in San Antonio, TX, working night shifts with perinatal specialty experience preferred.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Full-time position
Requirements
- Active RN license in TX or a compact state
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery or a related perinatal nursing specialty
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
- Current NRP certification
- Current NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) certification or AWHONN Intermediate FHM certification
- BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- US Social Security Number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
- Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and must complete organizational and perinatal department-specific competency validations
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- Perinatal RN Residency or recent perinatal clinical experience is preferred
