Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a General Medicine unit, requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and recent Epic proficiency in a large teaching facility setting.

Details

• Position is located on Baird 3, a General Medicine (Med/Surg Telemetry) unit within a large academic teaching hospital
• Patient population includes acute and chronically ill adults with multisystem needs, specializing in elder care, delirium prevention, respiratory issues, renal issues, alcohol withdrawal, infectious diseases, bariatric care, and geriatric nursing
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Schedule runs Monday through Sunday
• Floating required to similar medical/surgical floors
• Epic EMR experience from within the past 12 months is required
• No block schedules permitted for any reason

Requirements

• Active RN license — VT or Compact license accepted; NY license accepted with proof of pending
• Current certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, Med/Surg (CMSRN) or Gerontology certification
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry (tele) experience required
• Experience in a large, academic teaching facility required
• Med/Surg Telemetry specialty experience required
• Verified Epic EMR experience within the past 12 months — non-negotiable
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required: at least one from the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Proof of COVID and flu vaccinations or signed declinations required

Additional Information

• Provides acute care nursing to patients with complex, multisystem chronic and acute conditions including geriatric specialty care
• Bi-weekly orientations begin on Mondays
• Public transportation is not accessible in this area — candidates must have reliable personal or rental transportation
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
• Complete work history is required, including bed count, EMR, facility type, and trauma level; all employment gaps over 30 days must be explained
