Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Portsmouth, NH, requiring active NRP and C-EFM certifications and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

Details

• Position is located in the Family Services unit of an acute care hospital in Portsmouth, NH
• 19-bed L&D unit within a hospital recognized as one of America's 250 Best Hospitals in 2025
• Patient ratios: L&D 1–2:1, Postpartum 3:1, Gyn/Pedi 3–4:1
• Procedures performed include versions, circumcisions, and C-sections
• Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), IV pumps, and standard OB equipment in use
• Documentation systems: Meditech Expanse and CPN Connect
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Floating may be required to other units in a helping hands, sitter, or virtual capacity
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), and C-EFM (intermediate or advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM)
• Optional certifications: STABLE and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
• Postpartum (PP) experience required
• LDRP experience preferred; Nursery/NICU experience is a plus
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

• Scrubs are provided by the unit

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
