Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with a minimum of 2 years of OR experience, Level I trauma background, and Epic proficiency for a 16-week travel contract in Vermont.

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room (OR) of a large academic medical center (500+ beds)
  • Rotating 10-hour day/evening shifts; typical pattern is three day shifts plus one off shift
  • Off shift hours are 0845-1915, 1045-2115, or 1245-2315
  • Schedule runs Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling permitted for any reason
  • Call requirements include one weekday call per week plus one 24-hour call per four-week scheduling block
  • Must scrub all specialties except CVOR, including general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap, trauma, thoracic, and vascular cases
  • Epic EMR used; recent experience is required
  • Schedule flexibility is required to meet unit and patient care needs

Requirements

  • Active VT or Compact RN license required; NY license considered with proof of pending licensure
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Experience in a large (500+ bed) Level I trauma center required
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
  • Must demonstrate both circulator and scrub skills
  • Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • All employment gaps exceeding 90 days must be explained

Additional Information

  • Bi-weekly orientations begin on Mondays; next available orientation is June 1
  • Complete work history is required, including bed count, EMR system, and facility type for all positions listed
  • Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
  • Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
  • This is an interview-to-offer (IVS) position
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are considered local; candidates 51–100 miles away may be eligible at a different pay rate; distance is measured in a straight line, not by driving distance
