Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment at a short-term acute care hospital with a Level 2 trauma designation and an open heart program, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active IN or compact RN license.
Details
- 14-bed ICU within a short-term acute care hospital (194 staffed beds)
- Patient population includes open heart, neurosurgical, stroke, STEMI, ECMO (stabilize and ship), sepsis, and general community Med-Surg cases
- Level 2 trauma unit with IABP, CRRT, manual proning, UST, and RRT team capabilities
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling availability to be discussed
- Charting via Cerner (experience required)
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license must be in hand prior to consideration — pending licensure not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA or RQI accepted, must be current); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required; CCRN preferred
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required
- Local candidates are not accepted for this ICU position
Additional Information
- Nurses will care for complex ICU patients including open heart, neuro, stroke, STEMI, ECMO, sepsis, and trauma cases using specialized equipment such as IABP and CRRT
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub colors: red top, black bottoms
