Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro-Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience to perform diagnostic cerebral angiograms and neurovascular procedures at a large academic teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in a 3-room Neuro-Interventional Radiology department within a large, Level I Trauma academic teaching hospital
• Procedures include diagnostic cerebral angiograms, coiling, stenting, embolizations, stroke thrombectomies, venous samplings, OR angiograms, lumbar punctures, and other neurovascular procedures
• Some pediatric procedures are performed in this department
• Daily caseload of 6–8 procedures per technologist
• Primary equipment includes a Siemens Bi-plane system used for neurovascular image acquisition and post-processing
• Charting is done in Epic
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
• Weekday call rotation is 4:00 PM – 7:30 AM; this position is assigned one weeknight of call per week
• Weekend call runs Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM; this position is assigned weekend call 3–4 times over a 13-week assignment
• No regular weekend shifts required, though call may fall on weekends
• Floating within the service line is possible per facility policy; no floating to sister facilities required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology or Neuro-Interventional Radiology experience required; first-time travelers accepted with 2+ years of experience
• ARRT (R) and BLS required; ARRT (VI) preferred
• Experience with C-arm and contrast required
• Valid MO State License required; license required if applicable
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include positioning for neurovascular image acquisition, post-processing images, and circulating cases; scrub experience is not required
• Work alongside a team of neuroradiologists and neurosurgeons
• Scrub colors are black, red, or white
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of BJC facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Allied travelers may remain for up to 12 months, after which a 6-month break in service is required
