Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Progressive Care Unit position requiring at least 2 years of recent ICU experience and Level 1 trauma background, with night shift availability.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in an acute hospital setting
• High-acuity patient population that may require rapid response intervention
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12-hour shifts)
• 36 or 48 hours/week contract options available
• Floating required to ICU or other PCU units
• Orientation to additional transitional units included

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in good standing, required at time of consideration — no licensure hits accepted
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in a high-acuity PCU required
• Experience in PCU, Med/Surg, and Telemetry required
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to manage patients requiring rapid response
• 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates with a permanent residence within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being considered as a traveler
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront — RTO requests made after submission will not be approved
