Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at an acute care hospital in California, with a strong emphasis on EP experience and on-call availability.

Details

Acute care hospital setting within a combined Cath Lab and IR department with 3 suites/labs
Position is primarily EP-focused with IR and cardiac cath cases also performed
Averages approximately 10 cases per day
EMR: Cerner; specialized equipment includes Mac Lab
Telemetry monitoring and ventilator management are part of the unit's capabilities
12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekend requirement: 2 RNs required every weekend (48 hrs)
On-call requirement: 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month (48 hrs); response time required within 30 minutes
No floating required
Holidays shared among staff
Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

Active CA RN license required (Standard or Compact); pending licenses not accepted
Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required; pending certifications not accepted
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Significant EP (electrophysiology) experience strongly required
Cath Lab and/or IR nursing experience required
Cerner EMR experience preferred
Must be able to respond to on-call duties within 30 minutes
Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
A copy of a valid driver's license is required for consideration

Additional Information

Unit-specific orientation is provided
Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
A Vascular Access Team and 24/7 Respiratory Therapy support are available on the unit; pharmacy transitions to on-call after 8:00 PM
Charge Nurse coverage is available on the unit
