Description

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience, GE scanner proficiency, and IV certification for an acute care hospital CT department near Boston, MA.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting serving both inpatient and outpatient populations, including an outpatient center with urgent care
• One active inpatient floor handling lower-acuity cases such as head CTs for falls; critically ill patients are transferred to the main facility
• Performs routine CT exams as well as occasional CTA studies (no coronal CTA)
• Ability to perform calcium scoring on a GE scanner is a strong plus
• Equipment includes a GE VCT and GE Evo/Evolution, including a new GE dual energy scanner
• Charting via MEDITECH; PACS experience also utilized
• 4x10-hour evening shifts; primary shift runs 11:00 AM–9:30 PM with every other weekend shift from 10:00 AM–8:30 PM
• Local candidates are accepted; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced bill rate

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience (3–5 years preferred)
• Active MA Radiologic Technology license required if applicable
• ARRT (CT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• IV certification or demonstrated IV competency required
• GE CT scanner experience is required — non-negotiable
• Graduate of an AMA-approved educational program in Radiological Technology
• Ability to work independently, including occasional solo shifts

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include following hospital exam protocols, performing QA warm-up procedures, operating pressure injectors and PACS, and producing quality studies in an efficient manner
• Technologist is expected to manipulate and adjust images to required specifications, including windowing, contrast, algorithm selection, creating reformatted images, and separating exams by accession number
• Administrative duties include tech edits, patient escort, room preparation and stocking, and reporting wet-read findings to physicians, the ED, and nursing units
• Must be comfortable working independently, as solo shifts occur on occasion
