Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (PCU/Telemetry) position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and cardiology specialty background at a large academic teaching facility.

Details

• Miller 4 PCU/Telemetry unit at a large academic teaching hospital
• Cardiology patient population including post-cath, STEMI, and structural heart patients
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, Monday through Sunday
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to M/S or other Progressive Care Areas within the Central Pool PCU — travelers float first
• Epic EMR experience required
• Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required; NY candidates will be considered with proof of pending NY license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required — NIHSS must be obtained prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior experience in a large facility and academic teaching hospital setting required
• Cardiology experience including post-cath, STEMI, and structural heart patients required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required (non-negotiable)
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Flexible scheduling is required — no block schedules permitted
• Public transportation is not accessible in this area; a personal or rental vehicle is strongly recommended
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
• NIHSS certification must be completed prior to start date
• This is a 4-week assignment
