Description

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a night shift travel contract in Cedar Rapids, IA, requiring ARRT (CT) certification and at least 2 years of CT experience with Toshiba and Siemens equipment.

• Work in the CT department of a 532-bed acute care hospital
• One of the busiest ERs in Iowa, with a steady night shift volume averaging 80–90 CT cases per 24-hour period
• Stroke center-accredited facility with a high volume of brain perfusion exams
• Equipment includes a Toshiba Aquilion One 640-slice and a Siemens 128 Definition AS scanner
• EMR is Epic; department also uses McKesson PACS, RapidAI software for ICH, and Clario
• Night shift schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1:00 PM – 1:30 AM
• No on-call requirements
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a bill rate reduction

Requirements

• ARRT (CT) certification required
• Active BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Active Iowa radiology license required; license if applicable — candidates without an active license must apply upon acceptance
• Minimum of 24 months of CT experience in a clinical or hospital setting required
• Hands-on experience with the Toshiba Aquilion One 640-slice scanner required
• Hands-on experience with the Siemens 128 Definition AS scanner required
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform a high volume of CT exams including brain perfusion studies using RapidAI software for ICH management
• CT department is located on an upper floor; patient transporters assist with moving patients from the ED, with CT techs assisting when transport is unavailable
• X-ray techs are staffed on the night shift in an adjacent area; CT techs may occasionally assist with morning portables as an extra set of hands, though cross-training in X-ray is not required
• Ultrasound is staffed 24/7 and located down the hallway from CT
• A supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 2 years is preferred for consideration
• Travelers are expected to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility as FTE or PRN within the past 12 months are not eligible for this position
• Orientation takes place the week prior to the first scheduled shift
