Description

American Traveler is hiring a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with both vascular ultrasound and echocardiography experience for a 13-week contract at a Level IV Trauma acute care hospital.

• Work setting is a short-term acute care hospital with 49 staffed beds, designated as a Level IV Trauma Center
• Unit focus covers Vascular Ultrasound, Echocardiography, and General Ultrasound
• Procedures include Vascular Ultrasound studies, Adult Echo, Contrast Echo, and Stress Echocardiogram (Treadmill)
• Patient ratio of 8:1
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• On-call is required: weekdays from 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM, and 24 hours on both Saturday and Sunday
• Weekends required for on-call coverage
• Epic EMR experience required
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Ultrasound/Sonography required
• Proficiency in both Vascular Ultrasound and Echocardiography is required — no training will be provided in these areas
• Experience with Adult Echo, Contrast Echo, and Stress Echocardiogram (Treadmill) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• RDMS or equivalent registry/certification required
• License required if applicable
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty and setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform vascular ultrasound studies, adult echocardiography, contrast echo, and treadmill stress echocardiograms in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Echo tech skills are a hard-stop requirement — candidates must be fully proficient prior to starting
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Minimal RTO is expected; a small number of days may be approved, but significant RTO requests may impact placement
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be disclosed upfront; post-offer requests may be denied
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; scrubs for this role follow facility dress code standards — wear street clothes to the facility (scrubs provided on-site)
• Free parking is available in any unrestricted space
