Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic proficiency for a 13-week night shift contract in Illinois.
Details
- Cardio/Pulmonary Med/Surg unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Patient population includes acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
- 13-week contract, 36 hours per week
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
- Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Associate's degree (ASN) required; BSN preferred
- English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient assessment and care planning, medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, lab monitoring, pain management, and patient discharge education
- Collaborates with patients and families to identify goals of care and maintain individualized care plans
- Documents all care using Epic EMR
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at this health system for 1 year must either convert to permanent employment or take a 6-month break before returning to any facility within the system
