Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Vascular IR position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic EMR proficiency in a Level 1 Trauma academic health system setting.
Details
- Vascular Interventional Radiology department within a Heart & Vascular Institute at an acute care hospital
- Patient population includes those requiring invasive cardiology or invasive radiology studies
- Procedures include peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (arterial and venous), venous thrombectomy, dialysis access (AV fistulas, tunneled dialysis catheters, peritoneal dialysis catheters), tube access and changes (G-tube, Chole, Neph, Biliary, Abscess, SPC), and neuro interventions (cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty)
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM on 4x9-hour day shifts
- On-call duties required on a rotational basis
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Vascular Interventional Radiology
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
- Active ARRT (R) certification required
- Active BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
- Illinois IEMA Radiography License required (license required if applicable)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization, and venous thrombectomy required
- Ability to maintain and work within a sterile field during procedures
- Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
- English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting physicians with all IR procedures, administering contrast material via IV or venipuncture, assessing patients for allergies, and accurately tracking intra-procedural medications, radiation, and sponge/sharp counts
- Additional duties include pulling supplies for procedures, maintaining patient comfort and safety, and contributing to accurate clinical documentation
- Experience with Interventional Neurology (cerebral arterial/venous, kyphoplasty) is preferred
- Candidate may assist in orienting new staff as needed
- RTO is not to exceed 7 total days for the duration of the 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
