Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a Level IV Trauma Center in West Allis, WI, requiring at least 2 years of IR experience and on-call availability.

• Interventional Radiology unit within a 277-bed Level IV Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Level III NICU facility in West Allis, WI
• Unit consists of 1 holding room (2-patient capacity) and 2 IR suites
• Patient population includes line placements, drains, guided biopsies, vascular work, carotid stents, angiograms, and AAA repair
• 1:1 patient ratio
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with flexible start times of 0700, 0730, or 0800
• Every 6th weekend rotation required
• On-call required: one weeknight call shift per week and one weekend every 6th weekend, with a 30-minute response time
• No floating required
• 40 hours per week

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of IR experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Skills required include patient transport and handoff, medication administration for sedation, pre/post procedure recovery, circulating, discharge follow-up calls, and scheduling/coordinating orders
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN collected within the last year
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate middle name or initial required for consideration

Additional Information

• Support staff includes an IR Aid/Transporter, Charge RN/Lead Tech, management, Respiratory Therapy, and Hospitalists
• Orientation includes a new employee orientation (NEO) and at least 1 shift to learn unit flow
• On-call callback is staffed with 1 RN and 1 tech
• Holiday coverage is on-call basis only
• Time off requests must be approved by the unit manager
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available in the East parking structure (3rd floor or higher)
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply
• First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for this position
