Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a blended Med/Surg Tele and PCU unit with Epic proficiency required and a night shift schedule.

Details

• Work in a 356-bed academic medical center and tertiary care facility affiliated with Saint Louis University School of Medicine
• 6S is a blended Med/Surg Tele and PCU unit
• Primary service lines include thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, urology, general surgery, and general medicine
• Patient ratios are 1:5 for Med/Surg Tele patients and 1:3 for PCU patients
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope to Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele units as needed
• Charting is performed in Epic (required)

Requirements

• Active RN license in Missouri or a compact state currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong Med/Surg Tele background required; PCU experience preferred
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a mixed Med/Surg Tele and PCU patient population across surgical and general medicine service lines
• PCU experience is preferred but candidates with a strong Med/Surg Tele background will be considered
• Navy blue scrubs required
