Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at an acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience.

Details

• 26-bed Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in post-PCI, pacemaker, AICD, post-MI, and cardiac pharmacologic intervention patients
• Acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
• Certified Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a (4x12-hour shifts)
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:5 (Tele) or 1:7 (Med/Surg)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Floating required within skillset
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrubs must be any combination of navy blue and white

Requirements

• Active NY single state RN license currently in hand (NY is not a Compact state)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with peripheral line care/management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency/rapid response
• Experience with nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to telemetry and med/surg patients including those recovering from cardiac procedures and interventions
