Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring Epic proficiency, overnight call rotation, and the ability to manage a high-acuity caseload independently from day one.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology (IR) unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:00–18:30, with a Sat/Sun/Mon or Fri/Sat/Sun rotation
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Overnight call rotation required
• Average daily census of 5–6 patients per room with a 1:6 staffing ratio
• Floating required within the IR unit
• Epic EMR experience required
• Preferred experience with infants and pediatric patients

Requirements

• Active Louisiana (LA) or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: ACLS and BLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and PALS
• Circulator experience required
• Conscious sedation experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required
• Preferred: Level 1 trauma experience, scrub experience, Neuro IR experience, and ICU/ED/Tele Step Down experience
• Candidate must be able to work independently and manage full caseload without a ramp-up period

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted
• Works alongside IR attendings, IR fellows, and radiology residents, with a resident in-house 24/7
• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign staff to an emergency response team, requiring the nurse to remain on-site until after an emergency event passes or to serve as part of a relief team
• RTO requests must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
