Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry (MS/Tele) position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with night shift availability and an every-other-weekend rotation.

Details

• Work in a Medical Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac monitoring cases such as hemodynamically stable dysrhythmias, non-STEMI and unstable coronary syndrome, post-PTCA, suspected pacemaker malfunction, and post-pacer/defibrillator/ablation observation
• Also serves pre- and post-operative patients requiring telemetry and closer cardiac observation, as well as STEMI patients after 12–24 hours of ICU stability and patients transferred from ICU or Stepdown who are hemodynamically stable
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1
• Cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessment performed on the unit, including cardiac and vasoactive drips (e.g., Diltiazem, Metoprolol) requiring titration
• Unit procedures include blood transfusions and fluid boluses; physician-performed procedures include thoracentesis, paracentesis, central line insertion, bone marrow aspiration, and chest tube insertion
• Charting system: Epic
• Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend rotation required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• IV start and telemetry monitoring skills required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
• Blocked scheduling may be available; candidates should discuss directly with the manager as it may not be added to the contract
• Black scrubs required
