Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week night shift contract in an acute care imaging department serving pediatric through geriatric patients across multiple care settings.
Details
- Hospital-based imaging department serving inpatient, outpatient, ED, trauma, OR, and NICU populations
- Patients range from neonates to geriatrics, with routine imaging across both pediatric and adult populations
- X-ray services include fluoroscopy (inpatient and outpatient), OR cross-table spine and cervical ortho, and all body parts (chest, abdomen, hand, joint, extremity, spine)
- Department equipment includes 3 fluoroscopy rooms, 4 plain film rooms, 7 portables, 7 C-arms, and 1 O-ARM, averaging 190 x-rays per 24-hour period
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- EMR is Epic (Radiant module); experience required
- McKesson PACS experience strongly preferred
- Digital Siemens x-ray and Shimadzu portable x-ray experience preferred; OEC C-arm experience required
- 10-hour night shifts, 40 hours per week
- Weekend rotation based on departmental needs
- On-call requirements include 24 hours of weekend call per month, which may be split into two 12-hour shifts; on-call hours are Sat–Sun 0600–0600 and Mon–Fri 1700–0600, with a 30-minute on-site response time required
- Float rotation includes all areas within the imaging department as well as to the affiliated pediatric facility
Requirements
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an acute care setting
- Current BLS certification required
- ARRT or RCIS certification required
- WA Rad Tech License required if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with portable imaging and C-arms required
- Experience with general x-ray (plain film, abdomen, pelvis), fluoroscopy, OR, and trauma imaging required
- Familiarity with neonates, pediatric, and ICU patient populations required
- Must be able to arrive on-site within 30 minutes when on call
- Two professional references required (supervisor level or above); one reference accepted at time of consideration with a second required prior to start
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position, provided they have acute care setting experience
- Responsibilities include transporting ED patients to and from the x-ray department
- Candidate must be able to work independently among staff
- Department protocol manuals are available on the unit
- RT, Hospitalist, and Intensivist support available 24/7
- Orientation consists of 4–5 days covering fluoroscopy, OR, ED, and float roles with a focus on inpatient portables; shifts during orientation are 8–10 hours based on departmental needs, and a compliance check-off sheet must be completed
- Schedule is received upon arrival in the department
- RTO requests are handled through the Radiology Manager
- Holidays falling on a scheduled workday are expected to be worked
- Scrubs may be any color; camouflage, denim, and hoodies are not permitted; closed-toe shoes are required
- Hospital-provided OR scrubs are required when working in the OR
- A sleep room is available for on-call staff and must be reserved in advance
- Free parking is available in designated areas
