Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Med/Surg Orthopedics travel assignment in New Mexico, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and a valid NM or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital inpatient environment on a 3rd floor Orthopedics unit
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract
• Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR used; on-site training available for those without prior Epic experience

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of current Med/Surg experience
• At least one prior 13-week travel assignment required
• ADN or ASN degree required
• English fluency (speaking, reading, and writing) required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have previously worked at this health system must have a one-year gap before being considered

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individualized patient care using the nursing process
• Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols and documents per policy
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
