Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a 12-week inpatient rehab assignment at a 240-bed hospital in San Antonio, TX.
Details
- Inpatient PT/OT rehab unit located on the 4th floor of the main campus building
- Day shift position, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 240-bed facility with a staff of 54 therapists
- Day shift staffing includes 14–16 PTs per shift
- Patient ratio of 1:8–10
- Common procedures include gait training, transfer training, therapeutic exercise, discharge planning, and family education
- Equipment used includes DME, Barton Chair, Sara Stedy, standing frame, and cardiac walker
- EMR system is Meditech
- Float coverage to IRF/ARU units required
- Rotating weekend coverage required
Requirements
- Active Texas OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of start)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Acute care experience required
- ICU experience preferred
- Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the OT specialty
- Must not have gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

- Perform gait and transfer training, therapeutic exercise, discharge planning, and patient/family education
- Work as part of a collaborative inpatient rehab therapy team
- Flexible team player with strong written and verbal communication skills preferred
- Olive green scrub top and black scrub bottoms required
