Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week assignment at an acute care hospital in Dallas, TX specializing in inpatient rehab and acute care therapy services.

Details

  • Day shift position, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 13-week contract in Dallas, TX
  • Inpatient rehabilitation unit serving stroke and orthopedic patients, providing 3 hours of intensive therapy per day
  • Acute care setting serving patients who require therapy prior to discharge home or transition to the next level of care

Requirements

  • Active OT license (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of OT experience; allied candidates must have at least 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
  • Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC required (certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
  • One professional reference required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

  • Provide occupational therapy services across inpatient rehabilitation and acute care settings
  • Work with stroke, orthopedic, and general acute care patient populations to support safe discharge or transition to appropriate care levels

Traveler-friendly and nurse-to-patient ratio is fair (only once I was Quaded but had a lot of help from Nurse Extern & Resource RN).

Cons

Move closer to the facility; traffic in the city is horrible, and the express toll costs can vary from day to day.
